Information We Collect
When you use our website, we may collect the following information:
- Contact information you provide through our forms, including your name, email address, organization, and message content.
- Account information if you create an account, including your email address and profile details.
- Payment information when you purchase a product or subscribe to a community tier. Payment card details (number, expiration, CVV) are entered directly into our payment processor's secure form and are never stored on our servers. We retain only a tokenized reference to your saved payment method, the transaction amount, and the transaction ID.
- Donation and contribution records for the Nellson Associates Scholarship Fund, including the date, amount, and source (book purchase or community subscription) of each contribution. These records are retained for tax-receipt generation and financial reporting.
- Usage data such as pages visited and interactions with the site, collected through standard web server logs.
How We Use Your Information
- To respond to your inquiries and provide consulting services.
- To send you information related to your account or engagement.
- To process payments, manage recurring subscriptions, and issue receipts.
- To generate annual donation receipts for the Scholarship Fund.
- To improve our website and services.
We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
Payment Processing
All payments are processed securely by Authorize.Net, a certified PCI-DSS Level 1 payment processor operated by Visa Inc. When you enter card information on our checkout pages, that information is sent directly to Authorize.Net via a secure tokenization mechanism (Accept.js). We never see, store, or transmit your full card details on our servers.
For recurring community subscriptions, Authorize.Net stores a tokenized payment profile that allows them to process your monthly charges. You may cancel your subscription at any time via your account dashboard, after which no further charges will be made and the tokenized payment profile will be marked inactive.
Authorize.Net's privacy practices are governed by their own privacy policy, available at authorize.net/about-us/privacy.
Scholarship Fund Records
50% of every book purchase and community subscription is allocated to the Nellson Associates Scholarship Fund. We maintain records of each contribution (date, amount, source) so you can generate annual contribution statements from your account dashboard. These records are retained for as long as your account is active.
Contributions to the Scholarship Fund are part of your purchase price and are not tax-deductible donations. Nellson Associates is not a registered 501(c)(3) organization. The contribution statements we provide are for your records, not for tax filing.
Scholarship disbursements may be displayed on the public Scholarship Fund dashboard in anonymized form. Individual contributor identities are never publicly displayed without explicit consent.
Data Retention
We retain account, transaction, and contribution records for as long as needed to provide our services and to comply with legal, tax, and accounting requirements. Inactive accounts may be archived after a period of inactivity. You may request deletion of your personal information at any time by contacting us, subject to retention requirements for tax and financial records.
Data Security
We use industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), secure data storage, access controls, rate limiting on payment endpoints, and webhook signature validation. Sensitive credentials and tokens are stored encrypted at rest.
